For a professional MUA it is fundamental to keep a high standard of hygiene to secure your safety.
Between clients I always spray the brushes with antibacterial spray and wipe them with antibacterial wipes.
I DO NOT re-use lip or mascara brushes, they go straight in the bin!
Once the day is finish it’s time to wash properly my tools:
✨ I soak the bristles of the brushes in warm water for a couple of minutes, making sure the ferrule is not under the water.
✨ I wash one by one with goat soap: it works great especially to remove foundation and concealer/liquid creamy products.
✨After rinsing, I wash them again one by one with an antibacterial soap and rinse again.
✨I give a gentle squeeze to the bristles and I lie the brushes on a clean towel on a flat surface making sure the bristles are on the edge to get air in and dry properlY
✨Once dry I like to give another spray of antibacterial spray! 🧚🏼♂️
Even if you are not a professional it is so important to wash your personal brushes every week!
You will decrease the risk of skin congestion for example, as you keep eliminating bacteria, old makeup and dust that forms on your brushes.
You don't need to follow all the step but you can simply use antibacterial soap and dry them in the same way ;-)
